Project Description:

The goal of the project is to transform the apiculture industry into Saint Lucia into a natural or organic apiculture through research, training, product diversification and retailing of products. The objectives are to: (i) enhance, improve and where necessary adapt/ change members’ skills and ability to produce natural apiculture products by the end of the project; (ii) increase public awareness and education of the role of bees as indicators of environmental health and the value of natural apiculture products; (iii) demonstrate the value of natural beekeeping versus conventional methods as a strategy to develop resilience in a dynamic climate change environment; (iv) implement the marketing plan to acquire a larger share of the market for the products; (v) develop a strong network of support with other honey producers as a way to share experiences and advocate for policy change towards a Natural Apiculture Industry
